The MIB – Museo Immersivo della Bruna (Immersive Museum of the Bruna) – situated on the lower level of our building, easily accessible from Via Fiorentini, offers a multimedia journey through the patron saint’s festival, featuring legends, images, sounds and stories. Owing to its cultural significance, it has received the patronage of Matera City Council.

Inside the MIB, visitors can experience the Festa della Bruna from within, savouring its highlights through captivating videos and thus entering into a magical connection with Matera and its people; they can admire a real 1:1 scale triumphal float and take part in the ‘strazzo’

360° PROJECTION OF THE FLOAT’S ‘STRAZZO’

The highlight of the museum exhibition is the 360° projection of a ‘strazzo’, viewed through special glasses: the sensation you experience whilst watching it is that of being right at the heart of the action and actually taking part in the breaking of the float (as locals from Matera, we can assure you it’s a unique experience).
